About Me

I am Rachel, a wife and a mom.  I work outside and inside the home, as many moms do.  I am into cooking, fitness, photography, and lots of outdoor time.  I am just the right amount of healthy and unhealthy.  I LOVE Pinterest and spend far too much time pinning things.  I have been married for close to 11 years and waited a LONG time to have my 1st baby.  Here I am growing baby #2 now.  I loving being a mom and growing our sweet little family.

A little background:

I spent so much time just trying to get pregnant with my first son (14 months total) that it never occurred to me to research pregnancy itself. By the time I found out I was expecting I quickly realized there are a lot of opinions out there. Being super into my health and fitness in general I made the decision to keep some sort of workouts on my agenda and to eat well most of the time. The other thing I was surprised to learn was about midwives and doulas, drug free births and even water births. I had no idea about all of this, but the more I learned, the more it fit my lifestyle in general especially the drug free natural birth process. It took no time to convince my husband that this was the way to go for us. Only one problem. I was seeing a traditional Ob and wanted to give birth in a newer hospital near my house. Long story short, I ended up firing my OB after she finally told me at 35 weeks that we do things her way in the delivery room because it is easiest for her. That was the end of that. I had recently heard of a midwife group out of a hospital in Ft. Worth. The next day I called and made an appointment and 3 weeks later I delivered at Harris Methodist in Ft. Worth with a midwife.  I even spent quite a bit of time in the tub. It was a long 23 hours and 45 minutes but I did it and he is here and healthy.

So this time I am grateful to have that research done and can enjoy this pregnancy a little more. Here I will share highlights of this bundle and some of my own research regarding health, fitness, pregnancy and birth and how they all fit in the same sentence. Thanks for following along and I hope you gain a little nugget of info along the way.
